Disaster! Shock! Oh it was indeed the worst fate that could have befallen the poor fern. The once luscious, green leaves were now brown, dry, and curled, some littering the dry and moss covered soil that the plant grew from. The slender man that held the plant so tightly against his chest walked gallantly towards the bookstore. Perhaps there were books that would help him fix this tragedy. Besides, there was nothing like a visual aid to help the bookclerks know exactly what he needed help with ( ... )

Upon hearing the voice calling his name, Yuki cringed and nearly dropped the book he was holding. No, not here, not now. Why did this always happen to him at the worse possible moments? "G-good.... good evening, Nii-san..." he said slowly, trying to be calm and reasonable. There was no way his brother was stalking him. No way. It wasn't possible.
...but it probably was.
"I'm getting a book about gardens," Yuki said finally, trying to stop his right eye from twitching.

"Yes! Of course you are!" Ayame stood up again, his left arm making a dramatic sweep before he set it across his brother's shoulders. "Seeking knowledge! Expanding your mind! I couldn't be more proud of you, Yuki-kun!" The dramatics weren't going to cease, not when Ayame was around.

For now, the poor fern was forgotten, having found its way out of Ayame's grasp only to be placed rather haphazardly on the bookshelf in front of the two Sohma Family members. "Perhaps you are the one I wanted to speak to afterall! Though don't get me wrong, Yuki-kun! I adore any chance I get to speak with my dearest of dear brothers!"

"Somehow, Nii-san, I don't think you came here to speak to me." Yuki sighed and put the book in his hand back on the shel--there was a plant there. "...What's a dead plant doing on the shelf?"
