If I don't get re-elected as social sec next year, I will have a hissy fit. Not kidding. I don't care that I have not actually been in the country for my entire term, nor that I only got it because Ad and Paul were drunk and easily entertained, it's mine and I'm keeping it.

I think you are an awsome Social Sec. I have only been in Sheffield at the same time as you for three days and already you made a big impression on me because you are such a great girl. I definately think you should restand.

To put things into perspective.... Kathy is *amazing* as social sec, but I think you have it in you to be at least as good :)
The social sec in my first year didn't do *anything* at all and quit officially in about February time. [This should reassure you that whatever you do the club won't fall apart :)]
Andy last year oranganised some stuff, and did a good job of getting people to it :)

You can put your own spin on it if you decide to run for it. We'd love to have you on the committee, and you'd make a brilliant social sec :)

According to PaganSoc I already do make a good Social Sec. Hence the getting weird with me whenever I approch the subject of stepping down. I don't know why they think that. I missed the first social I ran. (Went to a friend's for dinner beforehand and wasn't well enough to leave her flat.)

One of the reason's I want to run for Social Sec is that the club can still function with a bad one, but a bad Treasurer or Secretary is going to cause problems. Even if I am good at it, I need to know that things won't go pearshaped if my M.E. gets worse.

I am Putting My Nose In, because I remember the days of Misha, when he was in London for most of his term of office... President is a bit of work. Not lots and lots and lots of work, but it is a bit of work- There's a lot of little things to be sorted out at some points of the year, and then bugger all to do for months at a time, from what I hear and see and remember. Do it 'cause you love NoDDSoC, yes, but be aware it is being president of a society and there ARE people who will get pissy if rooms aren't booked and so on.

Aww, yay thank you!!:)

I'm sure you'd make a great social sec! Steal other people's ideas (that's what I've been doing half the time!;-P). If you want I can talk through what it's like being social sec and what I've found has worked/hasn't worked this year and anything else, so that you can see if you would like to do it next year. If you have any questions, my door is always open :)
