So, more on Germany. The apartment is nice (heated now) and very IKEA-fabulous. It's on the 6th floor of a building that might be a squat because I have never seen a damned person in here. You should double check this, but I believe they recently normalized spelling in Germany and so now they spell things more phonetically - umlaut has been replaced by two vowels. I believe the beta (curly looking B) is for the double s (like in "strasse," street).
