After the party (and hoping that Aeryn's not too worn out), John's leading her back to her room. He's already stopped at this room to pick up her presents and now he's just waiting for her to unlock the door.

She does, and lets him in, closing the door behind them. And the other gifts are handwaved in, yay. "So is there a reason for wanting to do this in private?" she wonders. Because you never know with him.

"I'd like to see your reaction to them without the hustle and bustle around us," he explains, dumping the gifts on her bed. "Plus, some of these are personal."

"Oh," she says, and takes a seat. And that does make her curious.
