The White Collar Big Bang has a fairly long challenge period - April to September - six months if my math is correct. Previous rounds have operated well under a regime of benevolent neglect. I haven't done this before, but will probably sign up for it this year, so I thought I might add my two cents if that's alright!

One, I was extremely relieved when I saw your post about betas over on the rBB comm - I'm kind of shy and probably wouldn't have asked anyone from the comm that I don't already know to beta, and while my amazingly awesome regular beta is always willing to help, I really wanted an additional perspective for this particular project. So, perhaps doing that again, and maybe even right at the onset of the challenge so that people who prefer to work one on one to hash out ideas can find each other, that would be awesome.

Two, the chat sounds like a fantastic idea - I've been in and out of there a few times but usually miss everyone because of my awkward schedule, so set times would be super efficient! =)

Oh, please DO sign up! It's a lot of fun.

And I'm glad my signal boost was timely. There is actually a WC beta comm, but as far as I know, it's pretty dead.

And yes, chat is a lot of fun, and sometimes you never know who pops. Sometimes I open the room with no expectation of anyone joining and all of a sudden, PEOPLE!
