Spoilers: The Dutchman case is mentioned, so spoilers for the pilot. There are a couple of other teensy tidbits mentioned that aren’t spoilery but are hopefully a respectful nod at the wonderful details Jeff Eastin et al add to the characters.

Summary: In a world where the latest fad is owning a show slave, Peter is trying to decide if this would be the perfect birthday present for his wife. Unfortunately, show slaves are bred to look pretty, not to have brains, which is something neither he nor El would be able to enjoy. But then he comes across Neal, a show slave with the raw talent of a real artist, and Peter realizes that there’s obviously an exception to every rule.
