Review: Funny Games, Goya's Ghosts, Vantage Point (more DVDs)

Keeping this train rolling, here. I'm all caught up after this, so in we go.

Funny Games: Amy recommended this to me after I saw The Strangers. I'd seen trailers for it previously that failed to impress me, but I was still kind of curious, and after she stood up for it I went ahead and rented it. Well, I'm still underwhelmed, but it wasn't as bad as ( Read more... )

Neither was I, actually. I know I've previously come to the defense of aesthetic post-modernism (e.g. Adaptation, Stranger Than Fiction), but this added no depth whatsoever. It wasn't art examining art; frankly, it was just shenanigans.

What is that business? Doubleposting on my last entry, screwed up code on this one...have you lost the ability to comment normally? I'm leaving this one as is, in hopes that in the future you'll look back at it, and, seeing it, know shame.

Actually, I didn't attempt any coding, so clearly livejournal is to blame. First, they sneak advertisements onto your page, next they screw with my comments. I think a strongly worded email to Andrew Paulson is in order. Get on that.
