Finally caught up on my f-list from being afk all weekend.

I had a really mushy post in mind, about how you're all wonderful and I love you, and reading my f-list after being away has a sort of coming home-type feeling...until I caught up on all my comms. See, I didn't really think of Fai as a new character type. It could just be the fandoms I run in but meeting Fai was sort of like, "Oh, hey, another guy who runs from his past and hides with his smile." In those respects he's like Hakkai from Saiyuki, Ginji from GetBackers, and even Abel from Trinity Blood.

And I think that's part of the reason that I love him so much. (Obvious slash-themed fun aside.) Because I know that eventually he's going to break, and it's always so much fun when they finally do.

Oh, I didn't say new, I said he's not one you see all the time. ^^ That type is out there, but in my experience, it's a lot less common. Especially in CLAMP. CLAMP readers are so used to the CLAMP character archetypes, it's even more striking, I think.
