I'm delighted to see that even Dean, with all his uncertainty, doesn't buy that. Dean is honey-sweet when he's successfully making the two of them happy. And isn't it marvelous that Dean finally has something that's just for him, just when he was in danger of disappearing permanently behind his need to take care of everyone else.

And teaching Castiel that neither a blow to the head nor an onslaught of Gabriel has to interrupt them? The more confident Dean gets, the more equal their dance becomes.

Kind of tricky getting on with a guy when you were looking at him and seeing a brother-stealing monster sneering out from his face.

The way your Dean copes and copes and copes: OK, I'll just pretend Gabriel and Sam have nothing to do with Sam and Gabriel. OK, we're all dying, I'll pitch in and help pretend we're not. OK, Dad's crazy, protect Sam. He finds a way. It's... desperately admirable.

Yes; but he can survive everything up until now because he had his Sam. Sam was his happy place. And now Castiel is that too, and he's not losing Sam exactly. But if he'd actually completely lost Sam, and if he loses Castiel irrevocably now, that emotional resilience would all go poof. :)

Castiel will eventually be far less blushy abou tsex! But right now, while Castiel may exceed him in knowledge, Dean exceeds Castiel in body confidence (and, well, brazenness), so he's got the advantage there. :)
