To avoid clones: When you start up your game session, go into CAS-new sim-randomize acouple of times-exit. Then you can go back to your played family and enjoy a non-clone baby. Not useful now, but for the next generation I guess.
Thanks for the reminder! :) I did roll random Sims in CAS, but then finished playing before the baby was born. I neglected to re-roll during my next play session. :P Now I know for sure that I need to randomize right before the baby is born. Randomizing in advance doesn't count!
I have a hard time resisting when a Sim asks if he/she can bring a friend, too. Sometimes it doesn't turn out so well!
Basilio definitely has a way with babies, making best friends with them and everything. He must feel like a very accomplished Popularity Sim.
LOL, maybe recruiting Alec into housework will make him think twice about being such a needy friend!
Celia and the fireflies were adorbs. I'd like to see my Sim toddlers go outside and interact with butterflies and fireflies, but I can never resist building my homes on foundations. X)
Too bad Cherubino is the same genetic combo as Casilda. I've tried the re-roll-in-CAS trick, not to mention using the Batbox to re-roll, and I still get clones all the time. I think sometimes there simply aren't too many available facial combinations between the parents.. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I'm usually pretty firm about unexpected guests, especially if I'm trying to spark a romance. ;) Sometimes, though, curiosity wins out.
I'm really proud of how likeable Basilio is. :) He's a shy Sim, so the Popularity asp does not come naturally to him (I rolled it). But he's embraced it, and Sims are responding!
I like foundations, too, so that I can create porches. Lately I've been building on ground level from a combo of economy and laziness. :P Now that I know about the firefly interaction, I might never build on foundations again! :D (Or realistically, I'll take my toddlers outdoors more often.)
Re: genetic diversity -- thank goodness! I'm 'glad' you have the same problem, though it's frustrating. Usually, rolling randoms anytime before birth works. I've gone a long time without a clone. But limited facial combos makes sense. Cheers for that insight!
Lol at the dots! XD I thought you had some incredible spoiler to share. Say hi to your cat for me! >^^<
