Corona 1.07: Unprecedented times
I jinxed my legacy: flu epidemic!
Previously: Alma and Clay take a brief honeymoon on Twikkii Island.
So, I jinxed my legacy by naming it after the corona virus. The flu is now spreading through the 'hood.
To demonstrate that I have only myself to blame, the game makes my SimSelf patient zero.
I cough everywhere except into my elbow.

A moment with baby.
The first day of summer falls on a Friday.
Alma and Clay both want to go fishing, so I send them to Sim Centre South.
What's going on in the background, there?
Komei Tellerman and Sandy Bruty are studiously ignoring each other. That can mean only one thing.
Oh, yeah. It's on.

Sandy gives as good as she gets. She takes a fiendish delight in handing Komei his butt.
Komei tries to win Alma's sympathy. She doesn't even bother to turn around.
'Leave me out of your petty squabbles,' Alma declares. 'I'm pregnant.'
My Knowledge Sims enjoy some quality nerd-time, together, before the baby arrives.
Speaking of which -- I missed the second pop.
I'm just starting to worry about a glitch when Alma goes into labour.
The baby arrives in the middle of the night. Clay leaps out of bed and rushes to Alma's side.
Instead of panicking, he stays calm and supportive. Here he is, earnestly coaching Alma through the delivery.
Welcome to the world, Basilio!
He has his mum's hair and skin, and his dad's eyes.

After the birth, I see that Alma and Clay now have three bolts of chemistry.
Babies really do improve relationships!
That new-baby smell.
Basilio's infancy is uneventful.
But hey, check it out. They're all asleep at the same time! During the night!
How often does that happen?
Time for Basilio's birthday!
The party starts out in typical Sim-fashion. The guests include random co-workers, kids with strict curfews, and that one Sim who refuses to celebrate.
So, a promising start.
Then things unravel.
I'm just going 'Ahhhh!' as Chris autonomously tucks in Basilio...
...when she starts to cough! Another disease vector on the lot.
That's not all. By including Chris and Simon, I've tuned in to another episode of Slob drama.
The party-rating is fine until Simon says something mean to Chris. Her hurt feelings plunge the score to Real Dud.
Then Alma catches the flu!
I hate it when birthday parties flop. Children develop a fear of parties, and then I feel guilty for giving them social anxiety.
Can the party be salvaged? With five seconds to go, Alma leads a desperate smustle to raise the fun level.
The attempt fails. I'm so disappointed.
Everybody go home.
In other news, the Slobs will not be appearing at public events until they sort out their marital and medical difficulties.
That news gives me no comfort, game.
Just when I think it's over, Clay becomes ill, too.
