Jayne Smith 13: One Step at a Time

Feb 19, 2016 08:25

Alistair is toddlered-up and ready to learn some life skills!

Alistair wakes up at two o'clock in the morning, wanting his Dad. Ben wants to teach Alistair to walk, so he draws the early morning childcare shift.

That's okay. He can always catch a few Zs at work. Wait, that might not be safe for an Underwater Demolitionist....

Earlier, I mentioned how much I like the blowing-out-candles face at baby birthdays. Even more than that, I love the falling-into-arms animation when toddlers learn to walk. There's something so reassuring about it, like, "I'll be there to catch you when you fall."

The tickle-face is growing on me, too.

To continue the underwater theme, I've dressed Alistair in an outfit that features a sea-life print. It's practically camouflage in this relentlessly-turquoise room.

Check out the cute fish (shark?) detail on the shoes! You can see it in the pictures, above.

Jayne has the day off! Because they have oodles of time to spend together, I grant Alistair's want to read a story with his Mum.

I don't like the reading-aloud activity, for some reason, so I seldom use it. I'm willing to indulge this household, though.

Jayne is shocked to hear that I'm not promoting literacy among Sim kids.

Nap time! Alistair is now sporting jammies that actually are camouflage.

When he wakes up, Jayne starts teaching Alistair to talk.

"Say 'mama,'" she coaches.

It becomes his first word! :) I like capturing a Sim's first speech-bubble.

In other news, Ben is promoted to Marine Biologist.

Thank goodness! I no longer have to worry about him falling asleep on the job.

So, I tried out this nifty baby bathtub by Nysha at the Mod the Sims. It's designed for Sims who have limited plumbing options.
It works so well! Definitely a need-to-have item for my Sim families.

Thanks for reading!
