Oh boy, the good old Christians are boycotting The Golden Compass. I'm not surprised, obviously, but come on, people, give kids some sort of credit for how much they can actually understand. ( Cut for potential spoiler for the books. )
It seems to be mostly the adults assuming kids won't be able to distinguish fiction and real life. I honestly don't think kids will have difficulty knowing this is fiction, seeing how this series of books has flying witches and polar bears that talk and wear armor. People need to learn how to chill and see things as mindless entertainment. Everything doesn't have to have an "agenda".
