Things one doesn't want to talk to one's parents about

Feb 20, 2006 19:38

A real conversation with my parents while watching Keeping Up Appearances where Onslow mentions the Kama Sutra:

Mom: What's the Kama Sutra?

Dad: I don't know.

Both of them: Katie, what's the Kama Sutra?

Me: It's the Indian book of sex.

Mom: How did you know that?

Me: How did you NOT know that?

I know they're completely not with it a lot (they're 65), but come on, everyone knows what the Kama Sutra is!

Your parents crack me up...how horrified was your mom?

Not too horrified. I've kind of desensitized her to stuff like this over the years. That conversationn reminded me of one I had with Ang, when she asked me the same thing. She responded with, "That was a wrinkle my brain didn't need."

Definitely a famous Ang moment...I had totally forgotten about that, too :-)
