Its nice to know that 51.9% of the population of California are bigots. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that they were too afraid of some non-existent wolf. I'm sorry - the courts allowed it once and the world did not implode

I argued with students all over UCI why Prop 8 was wrong, and I can't believe that college students could be so naive. They believed the ads that were blatantly lying about what was happening in California. They believed that domestic partnership gave all of the same rights to couples as marriage, that common law marriage existed in California and that same sex couples got the same tax advantages as married couples. They also believed that voting no on 8 would mean that schools would teach about same sex marriage.

I'm so disheartened at this point, and I'm thinking more and more that med school is calling me to move to New York, Connecticut or Mass. I can't believe that California is so backwards and I don't want to live someplace like that.
