1. Fic rec!

"The Office" fic that is so good it should have been an episode and in fact, as far as I'm concerned, until I get to watch season 3, that's exactly what happened.
It's so good, there should be a BetterOfficeFics just for this one rec. No, really.

And there's an interesting story on how I got to discover the book (way before it was translated and made to a movie), but that's for another time.

If you're interested in books on tape, I accidentally bought the tape instead of book version (damn eBay auctions and my lack of attention to details...) of John Campbell's classic "The Hero's Journey" part 2. You might want to listen to it.

And last remark - "A Series of Unfortunate Events" was made into a movie - unfortunately I fell asleep when it was shown at FishCon, but I do remember it's visually impressive, and have a tape at home if you haven't seen it.

I loved Ella Enchanted too, and I wouldn't mind watching the movie.

As to "Unfortunate Events" - I think I picked it up to listen because I've heard people mention the movie a lot, and I confused it with the book. Anyway, hopefully the movie has more going for it, because the books were annoying to me (and it couldn't be the narration, because it was TIM CURRY who rocks).
