[Mihai's made it home, although clearly worse for wear. He's tired, he's achy, and things are starting to itch under the bandages. [The house is still standing! Possibly because Nill came back when she learned everyone had left, and has been trudging around half-heartedly doing chores and visiting with Rokuta and doing his chores too. Though she's always come home to make dinner, then set up her nest on the couch. Because what if Mr. Mihai came back that night? Someone had to be awake to welcome him home and feed him.]

[Of course, she inevitably falls asleep every time and someone moves her back to her bed. This night isn't any exception, but she's still on the couch when Mihai comes home, buried in a mound of blankets.]

[Seeing Nill on the couch where she's clearly set up to wait brings a smile to Mihai's face. That problem seems to have gotten resolved while he's been gone, which is a definite relief. Mihai checks to make sure none of his bandages are showing outside of a single one one his jaw (that couldn't really be hidden), then moves to the couch. The tempation to simply let the girl sleep is there, but Mihai doubts Nill would appreciate come morning. Instead, he'll gently shake her shoulder.]

Miss Nill? Miss Nill, I'm back.

[The shake slowly pulls Nill out of her unintentional sleep. This is new--she'd woken up once when she was being moved, but for the most part all of the cleaning and worrying made her sleep like a rock. But no one had ever actually tried to wake her up.]

[She starts a little at the hand on her shoulder, slowly coming to the realization that she knew the person trying to wake her up. Once she figures out what's been said to her, she's wide awake and scrambling so she can give Mihai a hug. Thank goodness he's back...]

[It's Badou's turn to carry Nill back to bed, mostly because he's the one who happens to be awake and moving around the house at the time. He's been crouched over his journal most of the week, so he knows the old man's on his way back.

He shuffles out of the kitchen with a plate full of takeout in-hand, planning to take Nill's place once she's moved, but apparently Mihai's found his way home faster than usual. At a glance, he's still in one piece and everything.]

See? We didn't even burn parts of the house down. [He offers the plate. Take-out?] Welcome back, old man.

Ah, well. Hello there, Chi. [Mihai recognizes the kitten easily by now, and kneels down to pet her. Not knowing what she may or may not know about the draft and wars, however, he's not inclined to share the full truth of exactly why he hasn't been around.] Sorry about that. I had some errands to run.

[Haine takes note of the text, but isn't the type to be overly emotional about the old man's return. They weren't close, but he's glad the old guy isn't dead.]

Nothing that exciting. I think they tried to bore the rest of us to death while everyone was out.
