15 October | things I will regret
for eree, 'cos I think I promised her ravi/rinali. I'd like to write them again sometime.
There are very few things that Ravi truly regrets. So few, in fact, that they fit neatly onto one hand with room to spare.
The first is that he'd lost his eye. He'd been young and stupid and got cocky in a situation where he really had no idea what he was doing, and paid the price. In hindsight, he was fairly sure he had deserved it.
The second is that he'd been born a Bookman. He'd give anything to have had the freedom to choose his fate, because every time Bookman tells him to check himself, to keep out of the matters of Exorcists and remain detached, he clenches his fits and grits his teeth together and resists everything inside him that's screaming to break loose.
The third is that Rinali is so obviously in love with Allen and nothing he could do or say would change that.
The fourth is that he knows he will never do or say something that would change that.
He wouldn't be able to live with himself if he broke her heart.
