Hello! I hope fanmixes are allowed here! But even if they're not, I have "cleverly incorporated" the fanmix into an unofficial ship manifesto.
You've Got the Love
A fanmix for Demora Sulu/Joanna McCoy with unofficial ship manifesto.

Hello obscure pairings! Demora Sulu + Joanna McCoy: WTF? )

. . . eww.
I'm starting to love ST fandom even more than I love Trek itself. So many awesome ladies! I'm going to be so disappointed when they aren't all in the sequel. :/

ST fandom is awesome. And I know, if the sequel doesn't feature more female characters I'll...weep for humanity.

It's- not the age gap exactly, but the power imbalance that's sort of inherent in her dating her dad's co-worker. When I was a kid, my dad's co-workers were those old guys (in my eyes, anyway) who patted my head and asked me what grade I was in; I could never imagine dating one of them, even as an adult.
There was a script written for Joanna that never got produced- Sargasso something? All I remember is that she was held prisoner by some psychopath, and ended up getting fridged. TOS strikes another blow for feminism everywhere! *eyeroll*

Rand? And Chapel? And hopefully Gaila too. *crosses fingers*

I heard about the Sargasso thing but never knew what the episode was about? That's just...disgusting. What a horrible, overused trope. I'm so glad Trek has evolved beyond TOS.
I'd love to have Rand and Chapel, but not if they end up as "love interests". Ugh. I want them to be kicking major butt. And I will not accept that Gaila is dead! From the grin on her face you'd think she was assigned to the Enterprise! I like to think she's in Engineering, though that makes her a...redshirt. Hmm.

I love the 'dynasty of gay pairings' possibility this presents. I don't care if it's unrealistic, I know Joanna often features in Kirk/McCoy fics, and Chekov/Sulu writers generally adore Demora, so it made sense to...combine the two. :D :D
I mean, I haven't got much story for this pairing but I adore the concept of it to bits and feel a duty to spread the word. Heh. Also, your icon is awesome.

Also, hell yes for Scotty's nephew living this time around.

Hah! So glad to know I'm not the only one who has considered this. Hooyeah, power couples are sexy.
I had the hunch they'd kill off Scotty's nephew as soon as they introduced him in Wrath of Khan. Going off on a totally stupid tangent, it amuses me to think of this set of kids (well I can't use the phrase "the next generation" can I :P) running around on the Enterprise as younglings and saving everyone's asses, in the form of a kids' spinoff cartoon like...Captain Planet or Power Rangers or one of those kids-in-a-team-fighting-baddies cartoons. At the end they get special badges from Captain Kirk. Well okay I admit that it's because of this TNG episode.
