Kate Pulaski joined the Enterprise in Season 2 of TNG after Doctor Crusher left to run Starfleet Medical. She only stayed a year, and while it was nice to have Crusher back afterward, it was great to have Pulaski around. Pulaski sounds like a female version of McCoy. Suddenly I want to see them interacting.

I think that was mentioned when they originally came up with the character - yeah, it would be great to see them together!

I always liked Pulaski a lot better than Crusher, and wish she would've stayed onboard.

I do really like Crusher, but Pulaski was my favourite. I think even one more season of her would have been so cool.

So much love for this post! I adore Pulaski, and now I've got a bit of a hankering to watch season 2 of TNG again.

I will confess to being one of the people who disliked Dr. Pulaski at first (I was young and missed Beverly, okay?!), but she totally and permanently won me over in "Up the Long Ladder." Reading this over it looks like maybe they were trying to set up Pulaski and Data as foils to each other (a la McCoy and Spock perhaps)? Maybe it would've been better received if they'd gone with Pulaski and Worf.

Thanks for doing this recap, I always knew I liked her, and it's excellent to see all her nonchalantly awesome acts listed right in a row.

Yeah, I think that was definitely what they were going for, would have been nice to see it get a bit more time to develop! Glad you liked the post! :)
