Why do you do this? You not only make my read Uhura/McCoy, but then you have to go and make me love it.

Oh, AOS, you're an endless source of wonderful pairings, and oh you, you did this one so beautifully. Uhura's resourcefulness and determination to stick with Leonard, and Leonard's commitment to his job, are indicative of two brilliant, focused people who are very, very good together.

I'm so glad the characterizations worked. I was trying to write Uhura as realistically flawed, but still quite heroic, and McCoy as brave and authoritative while at someone's mercy.

Oh, this is lovely! I liked so many things about this, like the conversation with Jim, and Bones being upset that he couldn't save the injured man, and Uhura whacking him with a flashlight (I couldn't help laughing and facepalming a bit over that, despite the direness of the situation). But I think my favorite part was Uhura stroking his face near the end, and him looking up at her with that sweet open gaze. *melts*

I stumbled upon this gem and I just loved it. (and I'm a S/Mc shipper but I'm always delighted when McCoy gets some with anyone) I love how you've written both Uhura and McCoy, they're spot on and I loved the H/C scenes too. Very well done. Beautiful!

Me too! (Eh, to a degree.) In my head, just about everyone is at least a little in love with Bones. (And actually, in TOS, Spock/McCoy is my OTP.)
