They talk about her, sometimes. How she leaves her babies behind. How she doesn't care. They wonder how she can be so callous, so uncaring, so selfish. It's not just her, they say. It's not only her heart that got broken by the NaradaShe knows that. She knows that Tiberius and Mary, Sam, her mom and pop and everyone else in their small town misses him, wishes he were still around. It's not something that's within her control

3. Keep Your Ears Open (Janice Rand)

She’s not taken for granted, not overlooked, not brushed aside. The best captains know that a happy crew is a productive crew and Jim Kirk is well-known for being a good captain.

So he also realizes the strength in having people like Janice Rand close to his confidence and appreciated. Janice has demanded it after all, though not in so many words. She doesn’t need to actually say anything-that’s the beauty of Kirk-he just knows
