Dawna had all of the tea things laid out, properly. She was very much looking forward to meeting Nicholas' friend Elie. She'd heard a lot of very nice things about the young woman

Elie had to admit, she was a little nervous. Very excited, but nervous, too. She played it cool and hid it well, but all she kept telling herself on the way over was that she better not screw up. Nick was a very good friend to her, and his mother's opinion about her really was important to her. She wanted to make a good impression.
Looking down at the flowers she had gotten for her, she rearranged one of the leaves that seemed out of place to her. "There," she said before smiling at Nick. "Do they look okay?"

Nicky smiled at Elie, knowing she was nervous, and knowing his Mum, she was just as nervous, if not more so. In fact, he knew his Mum at all, she'd likely cleaned the house all night and was now trying not to pace a hole in the floor.
He grinned a little and nodded. "They're beautiful, Elie. Just like you. She's going to love you. There's no need to be worried, okay?" He reached out and took her hand, walking with her up the front walk and knocking before he opened the door.
"Mum?" he called, holding the door open so Elie could walk in. "Welcome to Mum and Dad's house," he grinned.
She heard the soft knock and stood, moving to the living room. She smiled at her son and the pretty little girl standing with him. "Come on in," she said gently.
"Good afternoon, Nicky," she said, kissing his cheek and then turned to the dark haired girl. "And you have to be Elie. My son was right, you are beautiful."
No problem, sweetie. As you can see, I took forever getting back around to Dawna to post. >.> I suck. But once we're both back on, I'll be able to quick post in all likelyhood. *hearts*
Even if she wasn't one to blush that easily, a faint blush was visible on Elie's cheeks as she grinned.
"Thank you. Yes, I'm Elie, it's such a pleasure to meet you," she said as she extended her hand to greet her. "Nick talks a lot about you, so I've been really looking forward to it. Oh!" She offered her the flowers. "I hope you like these. Thank you so much for having me over."
