If she only knew there were only 8 days left...

((Officially, 8 days until Nathaniel is born. Gonna try to get threads that aren't resolved by sex (no matter if it's concluded or not), or sleeping... or anything else that's remotely okay to stop at, wrapped up. Not because we've lost intrest, but some of the things are from forever ago, and to move Dawna and Henry forward? It's time to go on ( Read more... )

Henry wandered up the stairs with a frown on his face. She had meant to be down a full half hour ago but she wasn't, and truth be told? he was worried. I mean he was always worried, but at this moment he was very worried because it was so close to when the baby was due.

He walked into their bedroom, his frown getting deeper and for one moment as he caught the salt he panicked even more but he realised she had just been crying and his heart hit his boots. He sighed and stripped off his shirt, curling up behind her and wrapping his arms around her but not pulling her close, simply resting his hands on her stomach.

He knew she was scared but he didn't know what he could do to make things any better except be there for her.

She woke up feeling a lot less like throwing a tantrum and realized she was held gently in Henry's arms. That was always a good thing. She glanced over at him and smiled softly. "I'm sorry, I didn't think I'd fall asleep," she said, her voice low, almost a murmur, "I was having a lovely little crying jag up here all by myself, and I thought that sharing it was unfair. So, I kept it to myself, but apparently it knocked me out."

She shook her head a little and smiled more. "You're worried," she said softly.

He nodded a little and tried to smile; "I'm worried. I thought something had happened...and when I couldn't hear anything I thought the worst..." he blushed a little and lowered his eyes. He was used to her falling asleep at random intervals and usually without warning, but it still made him nervous.

"All that happened was me not being able to get up out of the tub and finally managing, but sweating like mad again and so I had to take a shower and then I was so frustrated that I just came in here before I sobbed..." She sighed and scooted a little closer to him. "I like that you worry... it makes me feel very safe, love," she said softly, "it's good to know that if you sensed anything wrong, you'd be right here to help."
