Well - there is a long story behind her. And yes, I am 32 and yes the barbie is my representation of Persephone.

I was in vegas 6 years ago and I am not much of a gambler. I was shopping one day with Matt's brother's girlfriend and she wanted to go to FAO Shwartz because she collects barbies. While there, I saw the Goddess of Spring and couldn't take my eyes off of her. She is collectors edition barbie - she isn't available any more by Mattel. I didn't buy her though but by the end of our week in Vegas I couldn't stop thinking about her. I realized I *had* to have her and the real Goddess of Spring would be very angry with me if I didn't bring her home with me. So I did as I was told and bought the barbie.

*grin* I recognize a couple of the statues-- I had the Athena statue, I have the Apollon with Daphne statue lol. Others have been ones I have been lusting for.

Oh and I love the persephone shrine---very creative. I have seen some beautiful barbies in collectors magazines that are like that, some with a mythological theme (such as the moongoddess, and sungoddess ones). Very nice. Love the promogrante oil lamp too!
