He...okay. Would this be instead of or as well as my regular shift?

He says you know McCoy, and I agree that the infirmary should be guarded by someone who's at least acquainted with the staff.

This would be instead of your regular shift.

That so?

Well, stay out of my way, Mister, and you won't have no trouble.

I'm not going to force anything on you. Do something wrong and you'll be dealt with, but aside from that, if you don't go out of your way to annoy me, I'll do the same. If and when you need me, all you have to do is ask.

Next time, try not to think so hard. At least not about me.

Private - she finally has the opportunity to talk to him about this! thatlibbychick January 6 2010, 00:01:01 UTC
Angel, do you think I failed Drusilla?

Reply

Private whatweoncewere January 7 2010, 03:20:47 UTC
What I did to Drusilla... I drove her mad, and I made her immortal. An eternity of torment. But while she was here, and while she had you in her life, I think she was happy. Really happy.

So no, I don't think you failed her.

I just feel like...I should have been able to help her. I keep wondering "what if I had done this differently, or this? Would she have graduated?"

What if she was sent back to that torment when she left? It would be my fault. I had a year to fix her and I didn't even come close.

I've wondered that too, about so many things in my life. But you can't go back and change the past, you just have to trust that you did your best, and from everything I saw, you did everything you could for her.

I don't know where she went, but it's not your fault. You can't turn around a century and a half of evildoing in a year; I've had lifetimes and I'm not done atoning. You did everything you could for her.
