She picks up a battered old field journal, leans forward on her elbows and reads from her notes to the camera. Her tone is professional and emotionless.]Beginning on Satuday, date unknown, time unknown, I was obligated to avoid capture by invading ( Read more... )

Mind if I cite your report in this week's roundup? Well put.

I can trust and have trusted the Sexbys with my life. The Doctor, Sveta, Martha, Cissie, Howie-they're all good people.

Feel free.

I haven't met the Sexbys, Sveta, or Howie yet. Martha's good people, and Cissie - but, ah, which Doctor?

The blond. This ... latest debacle and general feeling about it notwithstanding, he's a good fellow. I'm only passingly acquainted with the others, oddly enough.

The Sexbys are the married couple from the seventeenth century. Good people, although he's a bit rough-only to be expected from an old soldier of his era, though. Sveta's one of the doctors-Russian, blonde, cheery. Howie's a Scots policeman. All solid.

Thanks. It's good to know there are some stand-up people around here.

You know, I talked to her right before shit hit the fan. Persephone, I mean.

There are a few I would trust, but ultimately, I think finding these things out for yourself is the best course.

I really don't want to have to find out the hard way.

Logic dictates that I shouldn't trust Narvin, yet he is a good friend to me. Would you rather risk the occasional betrayal or lose the chance to make a surprising friend?

This isn't about friendship.

Listen, I'm not trying to seem cold or unfriendly, but I'm here to do a job. Socializing is great, but I want to know that some surprising friend isn't going to sacrifice me to an Aztec goddess.

I'm not in the infirmary but I spent most of the weekend unconscious. Took a real bad blow to the head.

How's yours?

I'll live.

Not a bad way to spend the weekend, K.

I thought it was kind of a shit way to do it considering how many people were injured. [People he sort of had the same regard to as agents.] But as long as it was taken care of.

Don't be too hard on yourself about it. What could you have done?
