018 [Spam for Rex] Backdated to last night-ish

Nov 13, 2010 11:25

[Armand doesn't like being blackmailed, but what he doesn't like more is having what he believes to be his property messed with. The whole matter with the Joker earlier that night left a bad taste in his mouth. More than a bad taste. And that's what surprised him the most of the whole matter. He certainly didn't care that two people had been killed ( Read more... )

[Rex is slumped against the TARDIS console, sulking. He's too frustrated to work on his other ventilator-- not that it would do much good. It's nowhere near complete enough to be of any use right now. And he's had enough of shouting and kicking at the door in hopes that somebody would hear him. Logically, he knows that he has the spare in his room, but-- loathe as he is to admit it-- he's afraid to venture out and get it. He doesn't know what Joker's planning, and he doesn't want to get caught in it. And he's afraid that if he sets foot outside without his ventilator, somebody could take advantage of that vulnerability long enough to do some real damage. He's at least safe here, and the Doctor will return. He has to. Nevermind the explosion he heard.

When the door opens, he jumps to his feet, torn between relief and fear, and then... profound confusion when he sees that it's Armand.]

Armand?![And he has... the ventilator. Rex looks up at him, brow furrowed in confusion, then down at the device before he grabs it. He runs ( ... )

SO MAGICAL. Now let's see if I remember First Aid. stopthat_destro November 13 2010, 21:26:43 UTC
They'll probably try to kill you if you don't turn yourself in. [Not that Rex cares, AT ALL. He stands and walks around, looking for some sort of First Aid kit. Once he locates one, he grabs a roll of bandages and walks over to Armand. He crouches down and takes his hand again.]

Here. At least you shouldn't bleed out all over them. [It's not quite an act of mercy, so much as Rex trying to cover his tracks a little. He doesn't want anybody to see the vampire's wound and ask questions.]

That's the trickiest part right there. whattasteisthis November 13 2010, 21:41:18 UTC
[Armand flicks his gaze back up to Rex, disorientation beginning to kick in with the blood loss. He knows he won't be able to fight them and for a second, a brief second there's a feeling of fear in his gut. But as soon as he feels and recognizes its presence, he begins to re-cover that vulnerable spot with more and more brick. The last time he was afraid, he was with Santino, before he joined the Children of Darkness. He could remember it clearly now. The still-warm body of a baby beside him, her mother that would not even look at him, for he had killed her child. The last moments of any compassion that could ever fill his heart had died that day, he remembered. His friends had all been burned to death, and his dearest of all, Riccardo, sacrificed to the Dark Gift, devoured whole by Armand's bloodlust. But he had to focus on the current time. Hundreds of years later, when he felt he was dying, but that was absurd. He could not die; he was immortal.]

Rex.

[It was little more than a reverent whisper.]

[He bandages the vampire's wrist, looking up when he hears him whisper his name. Rex pauses in his work, then focuses his attention on the injury again. Once bandaged, he elevates it again, applying pressure with his fingers. He brings his other hand out to touch Armand's face, trying to keep him focused on the here and now.]

Turn yourself in. I have to go. [He slides his hand down to touch Armand's chest, unaware that he's basically mirroring Armand's own habit.] If they find me here, they'll keep us apart. [Sometimes, Rex thinks that would be the best thing. But there's a compulsion inside of him, infecting him, that wants to keep Armand close. The vampire's gotten under his skin, and it feels so right, but he knows it isn't. He needs to get away.]

[The slight touch from Rex is enough to put the vampire's balance off and he sags back toward the floor, splayed out unceremoniously. He barely registers Rex's hand on his chest as he slides neatly into unconsciousness, feeling strangely calm despite being so unbearably and utterly weak. He should be furious that Rex is leaving him here, but the vampire doesn't question it right now. He instead remains as he is, where he is.]

[Rex kneels over Armand, watching him curiously. He presses the vampire's hand to his lips, kissing it lightly, before smiling ever so slightly. It seems tender, but what he's smiling about is the fact that he just did to Armand what Armand had done to him so many times. It does feel good. However grateful he may be for Armand's help, it feels great to have this power. He lowers the vampire's hand and stands, retrieving his ventilator. Time to leave the scene before the wardens arrive. Realistically, this should be one of the first places they'd search. RUN AWAAAY.]
