I am glad you asked this and got an answer because we get them too. We used to just get the black carpet beetles but some years ago we started getting both. Looks like the ones you have pictures are the Varied Carpet Beetles.
Also thought it was funny that I am in Montgomery County, MD so right near by!

I have little bugs like that all over my bedroom every night except they are little brown bugs.
