Chase leaned forward into her line of vision, a dubious look warring in his eyes. "Sarah?" he said, feeling like he was repeating himself a million times now. "Sarah, are you listening?" he asked, shifting the baby in his arms. "It's important we talk about this. At least, talk about what you think when you look at him."

"And I think you should wait until there isn't a baby in front of you for that," Chase countered, the edge of sarcasm easy to detect in his voice. "Would you like to hold him? For a moment, no more than a minute, see if we can't get the proper posture going?"

"I have held a child before. I do not think posture is the problem." She couldn't look at him. If that wasn't a glaring obstacle, she wasn't sure what was.
