Only in Illinois can it be 5 degrees one day and then 55 degrees the next day.

And it's humid.

Cold and humid.

The mind reels...

Illinois sounds a lot like Iceland. I skated over here from Mal/River loved your writing.

I lived in a really tiny town called Middletown there in Illinois for about a year it seemed like a great state. Was excited because I was finally gonna see snow, but that year we got zip...LOL

I hate Illinois, actually. LOL

I was born in Texas and lived there until I was 14, then I was dragged kicking and screaming to Illinois. Snow was cool the first couple of winters and then it just got to be a pain... Especially when I started driving and had to dig my car out of it every day. Joy.

Would you mind if I friended you? I've had an LJ for a while but I usually lurk in communities and am only friends with people I knew before I got a journal... So I don't know how these things work.

Friend away...I like having lots of friends. There may be this unwritten code that you should ask to friend, but I haven't heard about it. Personally, if I see someone as snarky as I am I will friend them because I choose whom to be friends with and if they friend me back all the happier.

Regarding snow...
I know I finally saw snow for the first time in Iceland and when it snowed that first time it drifted in front of the house to the roof. I was cured of my awe in less than a week.

I was there for 3 and 1/2 years and on the day I left in the middle of summer it was 55 degrees (the hottest summer temperature in years) and the kids and I were in shorts.

We hit the home state of Florida 10 hours later and it was 98 degrees at 11pm...We thought we'd been sent to hell...LOL

Take care!
Sid
