I am not sure what was a better origin story, Twilight's or Pinkie's. Rainbow Dash learning her ~purpose in life~ via doing a sonic boom was awesome, but pretty expected, considering that we knew she'd done it before and her cutie mark is a freaking lightning

This is such an insanely good show. Speaking of which...

Pinkie Pie didn't get her current attributes (hyperactive, irrational, able to break the 4th wall, able to break physics, able to uncannily predict future events) unril she stared directly into Dash's Sonic Rainboom.

Theory: staring directly into a Sonic Rainboom drives one mad by revealing knowledge beyond mortal comprehension.

Therefore, Rainbow Dash actually has elderitch powers.
