Jono drummed his fingers on his knee for a minute before firing off another text.

Back at music shop. Gave Boards away. Teaching. Also burning. How are you?

Good. Very good. Heading home to pack. Looking forward to seeing you too.

A few moments later, after Squall reminded himself that it was important for friends to show an interest in each others' lives, he sent a follow-up.

Burning again? Is that a good or bad thing?

Mostly just a THING. Comfortable in my own skin again, good. Saving a killing in groceries. Miss... everything people generally use mouths for.

Mouths are overrated. Especially if you can still talk. And you were upset that your clothes didn't fit.

That counted as cheering him up, right? More or less? Squall was personally glad that Jono would be able to blast things with fire again, but he figured that might be tactless to say.
