Hahahaha yay! I've been meaning to ask if FH!Squall was gonna be voiced by David Boreanaz. ;)

Also, if I'm remembering correctly (and I have a massive headache so I could be way off), the first Final Fantasy game was supposed to be Squaresoft's last hurrah before they folded, and it ended up taking off like whoa, so they kept the name and started making non-sequels.

True story: my brother named Griever "SUPERNUTS" when you get the option to name it in the beginning of the game.

Cue end battle - "The GF's true power... To show you...! SUPERNUTS! Make them bleed!"

...IT'S TOTALLY HILARIOUS, YES.

That was always one of my favorite things about Final Fantasy. You rename them to totally ridiculous things and get the most hilarious lines.

I could never do it, since I was generally playing for storyline/plot more than getting into game mechanics (ahahaha, I know, silly me) and it bothered me to have the characters' names not be correct, but my brother's games were invariably filled with lines like. "Oh no, IAMGAY, are you all right?"

For some reason one of my favorites was in FFVI, he named Relm "Lunch" and it ended up with the line "We have to go back in the house! Lunch is in there!" while said house is burning down.
