This is lovely. I like the contrast in the last scene between Mycroft's reaction now and his first reaction to Sherlock's first death - how broken he is. And the whittling - the whittling is lovely.

And when he realises that Sherlock is alive - that's beautiful.

(And now I want Molly to take over Mr. Norbury or something - his grand-daughter? Dealing with wood?)

I like the bit about Ella: “What do you hope to get out of these sessions with me?” - it feels like the question marks a turning point in John's life, an actual finding of purpose.
