Bonus points if its gluten free? I'm confused.

Anyway, this isn't crock related but a great fruit dip is 8oz cream cheese and 16oz marshmallow fluff. Mix together and nom.

I assume that someone at the party has Celiac disease and can't have gluten.

One crowd-pleaser crock item is chili. i don't have a recipe but there's a chili tag. Though you seem to be looking for more of an appetizer...again, there's a tag if you'd like more ideas.

The only spread type thing i've ever made in the crock is apple butter, which you could spread on crackers, triscuits, etc etc. Especially good with cream cheese. (My bf loves to put cc on a triscuit and then apple butter or jelly on top. NOM!)

Good luck!

Yes, but as someone with celiac disease, this question makes me wonder if the OP really knows how to do GF cooking. Its not just using ingredients sans gluten, its also being very careful with utensils and cooking equipment. So claiming something is gluten free can be misleading. Speaking from experience with a well meaning mother in law who isn't gluten free..

I've heard of making a chili type dip and adding cream cheese. That would be gluten free if done properly.

OH and to be helpful. Crockpot 365 has a bunch of dips and apps and some easy to do stuff in a crock, and she's a gluten free cook. http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/

Oooh, Hirino Psito (slow-roasted pork with fruit and mustard). You could make it ahead of time, then serve it on crackers or in rice roll ups (like Vietnamese salad rolls).

That site is great. All gluten-free slow-cooker recipes.

Here's the appetizers tag.

I feel like I came off a little harsh in my first reply but referring to gluten free as an option makes me a little crazy. I wish it was optional.

Lol.

This community has a lot of stuff by Stephanie O'Dea. As you probably seen, she decided to make a New Year resolution to use the crock every day in 2008 and blog the entire thing. This blog caused her a spot on the Rachael Ray Show and her own book published. One of her children is gluten free, and she is allergic to pork, so there's a lot of options for various diet restrictions.

Personally, I love this site... you can spend hours pondering over it.

Just a word of advice... beware... the cheesecake is TO.DIE.FOR. Seriously.

Good luck.

we do this (it really sounds kinda gross) but its 2/3 of a block of velveeta cheese and about 45 oz of chili, you could make a really awesome croc chili and then add the cheese later.
