Warning: Spoilers Ahead for Clannad and Clannad After Story

Welcome everybody to week two of my Clannad Character Spotlight Challenge. Last week I reviewed Ryou Fujibayashi, the "younger" of the Fujibayashi twins. I got a decent amount of responses to it, some positive, some pointing out mistakes on my part (trust me, if I made a mistake I want you ( Read more... )

why the heck nothing like that ever happened with Nagisa and Tomoya (the most they do is hold hands basically XD).
and they have a daughter! We could at least see one or two kissing scenes ( ... )

Yeah, I thought that a fun joke.

As I mentioned in the comments for Ryou, I haven't finished through the VN so the inner workings of it there I don't know. Which is why I said the anime it seemed a little rush and would have been a nice two-part thing.

Yes, it's a good thing they didn't fall apart like that. And yes, maybe Kyou could let go a little bit, but always keep within dictionary-throwing distance just in case XD.

In the VN, the closet storage curse is available for a number of characters, including Tomoyo. It started from Yukine's little reference rest room, actually. From a joke Suruhara made. They were talking about Yukine's magic and how it wouldn't work. Well, so Tomoya got dared into it. And they had to pick a girl.

And it was very fun picking all of em and seeing what would happen. You could even pick Sunohara, by accident.

The reason why this stuff never happened with nagisa and Tomoya in the anime is because the anime doesn't have room for all the "fun" stuff in Clannad the visual novel.

Still, you'd think they would at least show them kissing XD. I mean, Yuuichi kissed Ayu in Kanon, so I think we could get away with Tomoya/Nagisa kissing XD.

I figured as much XD. Just a nice little joke (I like jokes, though the mention of School Days might have gone too far >_>)...and a personal preference on my part.

Personally, I find the arcs a little unfair to both, and I do feel sorry for Ryou at the end of it. Still, Kyou deserves a little sympathy since she was at first basically screwing herself over to let Ryou be happy.

And I will ^_^. Next week will probably be Kotomi to finish up all these purple haired girls XD.

The end of the Kotomi arc is probably my favorite as well due to, as I say, a world-wide Crowning Moment of Heartwarming ^_^ *more TV Trope stuff XD

Rain amidst the Two ymarsakar September 30 2010, 14:03:44 UTC
I got to admit, the rain scene got me. It so got me. I didn't notice until I almost had to notice.

The emotional conflict over knowing both of them, but having to choose, and automatically denying the other, was pretty good. It's got real fire for those with empathy and a specialization in understanding human emotions.

My favorite part of Kyou that I like is her calm assessment of problems that can be fixed with violent solutions ( ... )

And here I was thinking I was trying to be intellectual to all this XD. But yeah, I think you are on to something there; the appeal of tsundere might similar to the appeal for the bad boy, though usually aggression isn't always looked as a "turn on" when it comes from a girl. Still, people do want excitement and emotion, and tsunderes sure have that in abundance XD.

Unfortunately I can't read Russian, and translators couldn't catch the last bit of your sentence ^_^""".
