As I mentioned in the comments for Ryou, I haven't finished through the VN so the inner workings of it there I don't know. Which is why I said the anime it seemed a little rush and would have been a nice two-part thing.
Yes, it's a good thing they didn't fall apart like that. And yes, maybe Kyou could let go a little bit, but always keep within dictionary-throwing distance just in case XD.

And it was very fun picking all of em and seeing what would happen. You could even pick Sunohara, by accident.
The reason why this stuff never happened with nagisa and Tomoya in the anime is because the anime doesn't have room for all the "fun" stuff in Clannad the visual novel.

Personally, I find the arcs a little unfair to both, and I do feel sorry for Ryou at the end of it. Still, Kyou deserves a little sympathy since she was at first basically screwing herself over to let Ryou be happy.
And I will ^_^. Next week will probably be Kotomi to finish up all these purple haired girls XD.

The emotional conflict over knowing both of them, but having to choose, and automatically denying the other, was pretty good. It's got real fire for those with empathy and a specialization in understanding human emotions.
