It certainly is complicated...he's right to be afraid. Even though I LOVED the apartment scene, I'm nervous for Dave. Thank you for the speedy update!

I almost died at how quick these updates are coming and you guys never fail to entertain me. It's the highlight of my day when it happens - judge me, whatever.
Bless the two of them stuttering through everything, it was perfect. Apart from the faceless peeps - they scared me. :)

God, this was just...O_O

What a roller coaster. The peace and contentment of Dave kissing Kurt in his place. The creepy, dark nightmare. The poignancy of Dave trying one last time to resist, and not being able to. Sigh...I was all just so wonderful.

I have a question though - if Kurt is legal, why would the cops be involved if they got caught? I know Dave would lose his job and probably be blackballed as a teacher forever, but I wasn't sure what would be illegal. I'm probably missing something totally obvious, but I wanted to ask anyway. Sorry if it's a dumb question.

Age of consent in Ohio is 16 --unless we're talking about a relationship where the older party is in a position of power (boss, teacher, coach, etc). So, if Dave wasn't Kurt's teacher there would be nothing wrong with this, even before his birthday, legally. However, since Kurt is his student, he has to be 18 for it to be legal. Which begs the question: Why do we keep pushing the legal aspect?

Answer: Look at who we're talking about. This is the guy who seriously thought the FBI was going to get him for being come on to by a student. It's mostly an overreaction. I say "mostly" because the cops would definitely still be involved at first ( ... )

See, that's the totally obvious thing that I was missing. :) WE know that nothing really happened between Kurt and Dave until he was legal, but for sure the cops (and like you said, Burt) would fo' shizzle be wondering when it started. Especially since Dave's been taking such a personal interest in Kurt since the beginning of the school year, it would look bad no matter how innocent it really was.
