How do I save a youtube video to my hard drive?

if you use Firefox, go to Tools, and then click on "add-ons" and then click "get add-ons" in the window that pops open, and then type in the search box, "DownloadHelper"... and then tell it to show you all the results. it'll open up a new window, or a new tab... and the one you want is "Video DownloadHelper".

once that's installed and upgraded, etc... then what you do, when you're watching a YouTube video (it has to be loading, or loaded) is click the little drop-down button next to the logo (that consists of red, blue and yellow balls) and click on the option that has the title of the video you want. then... save it. but once it's saved and downloaded (a pain, I know), you usually HAVE to go to the file and add ".flv" to the end.

and then there's the whole needing a FLV player to watch them, unless you get this program to convert it to an mpg or avi file (which is what I do).

it's a lot of work, I know, but I personally think it's worth it.
