I was planning to become amazingly athletic after my HSC finished... but meh. These sorts of aspirations never come true.

I have, however, been reading a lot. I decided to give a little summary on the highlights, low lights and bleargh of my little literary escapades. These are mini-reviews, with ratings. Keep in mind though that I rank my ( Read more... )

I think DT spoiled City of Bones for me, to be honest. CC did snarky dialogue so well there, her novel just couldn't match up. She needs to find something new, because she can write well. :S

The Morganville Vampire series is good! Generally, I try to veer away from YA (I don't think you can tell from this post. :p) but I do like urban fantasy, and Rachel Caine always has an innovative pitch. :)

I started reading the Twilight series on a whim, and I agree with you. They're lacking something. I think I keep reading them in hopes that what they're lacking will appear.

Urgh. I used to do that too, but after ABVH, I can't. I find that authors usually always disappoint, especially when their flaws from earlier books magnify in their later books. Bella was clearly an MS in book one, but by book two, she was pretty unbearable (for me). :S

YOU'RE ALIVE. =Dv

How was the HSC?

I have no problems with Twilight, except for the fact that Bella pisses me off. But I have to keep on reading, because I'm shameless like that. =Dv

wow, a week later... :p

Yeah, I am alive. ^^ The HSC was meh (seriously, the best thing about the HSC is when it it over...)

Oh, by all means stop reading Twilight. Sparkly vampires and brooding werewolves are good incentive to read on. ^^

Ugh, brain fuzzy. I meant to say 'by no means stop reading Twilight'. (I had it right the first time. :S)

Ah, so true about Twilight. Everyone was so into it and said it was really good, so that when I got a hold of a copy of it, I already had expectations. And... well, it wasn't so brilliant as I thought it would be. It was okay, but, well, I dunno. it did lack something.

I love Edward, though. :D And I dunno, I wasn't really fond of Bella. I liked Alice more.

Everyone likes Alice! Yay! And Edward is sparkly, so liking is kinda default...

Well, between always falling over and angsting, Bella doesn't really do much, I'm afraid...

:p oooh... I like your iconage!

I honestly agree with you: I came to absolutely loathe New Moon and Eclipse; it just dragged along for me, and the plot was definitely not appealing. Twilight by itself was amazing, a few faults here and there, but overall pretty good. Bella most definitely pissed me off.

She is planning on writing Twilight from Edwards point of view, and I'm partially excited, because it's interesting how that'll turn out. Don't know how you'd feel about that though . . .

Glad you're back (you have no clue who the heck I am, but I'm a fan . . .) ^_^

Twilight from Edward's point of view, to be honest, sorta scares me. After reading Twilight, I was excited enough to go to her website and check things out. I stumbled across a few Jacob PoV shorts, and wasn't terribly impressed. I may be interested in reading it, to see how it turns out, creatively speaking. However, I don't think I'll be running to the bookstore to get myself a copy.

oooh... a coffee cup! (or something remotely resembling one enough that I'm excited. :p)
