There's something really satisfying about manual labour. Way back when, Baze had all but renovated Open Bar and the loft above it single handed. It feels good to be making something again. Things are still awkward. Logically, Lux knows that they'll probably continue to be awkward for awhile yet, until one day they just aren't. Neither of them really know how to do something like this in increments, it just isn't in their nature to be so subtle. So for now, they continue to behave as if they're not sure how to be in the same space together.

Like now, even when that shared space is the vastness of the jungle, that tightness flairs up in Lux's chest again when she approaches and finds Baze tucked into his lunch.

"I hope you remembered the ballroom and the library in those plans," she says, blonde hair pulled back from her face because of the cloying tropical heat.

He still gets this strange, fluttering feeling when he sees her; he forces it down and grins, nodding towards where lunch is laid out incase she wants something.

"Kiddo, you'll be lucky if I manage to build you a bed."

"I already have one," Lux points out with a motion back toward Baze's hut. She hasn't been sleeping in it, of course, but that didn't mean she couldn't still use it. For Baze's sake, she won't suggest he could make it bigger; the less he knows about what she gets up to with Jason, the better.

"Yeah, but it's kind of small," says Baze, shrugging with all the laid-back ease of a totally unaware father. "You can decide what you want. I'll build it."

"That's true!" Lux agrees, jumping at the opportunity. "I mean, I'm not complaining, but it would be nice to, like. Be able to stretch out. Kind of like my bed back home."
