Am drunk, so might not be coherent.

Cheered out loud for WETA. Richard didn't get to speak! Christian cut his hair!

♥ George Clooney. Never did before, but tonight I love him. Because what he said? YES.

♥ Ang Lee. Always have.

♥ Jon Stewart. I don't think an explanation is necessary.

WTF Crash?????? Even so, cutting off the producer ( Read more... )

What did George Clooney say? I didn't get to see the Oscars.

But yeah -- Crash. WTF. On repeat.

He talked about people saying Hollywood is out of touch with Middle America, and said he was PROUD of that, and gave examples of movies about AIDS, black actors winning awards when they were still sitting on the back of the bus, etc. And yeah, he's right. Give me Hollywood liberalism over narrow-minded small minds any day. And of course his acknowledgement that winning supporting actor meant he wasn't winning best director. :)

The montage about social issues in movies and Stewart's remark that none of these problems exist anymore was a PERFECT footnote to it.

I was so happy for the kiwis/WETA folks. YAY! Richard Taylor can do no wrong.

And I'm not sure about Crash either. I mean, it was alright, but who DOESN'T know that racial issues are a problem in our society? I was really pulling for BBM, or if it couldn't be that, then GN&GL.

I know. I was cheering them out loud. :)

I thought BBM really made an impact, given it was a small, character-driven story. Subtle and let you figure it out on your own. Which is what I alwats prefer. :)

Sorry to hear about your aunt. :(

Thanks - we're still waiting to hear what comes next.

I know, I know. But doesn't mean I want to actually see them. And I like Ben Stiller and all, but good god, man! Stop challenging Derek from Zoolander.

Thank you. What makes it really frustrating is that her doctor forgot to send a referral to the neurologist, so she waited five weeks for an appointment that was never going to be set up.
