Can you put a big dog gate up in the doorway? We have had to do that before for bolters - it's annoying to step over (or if you get the type that installs and opens/closes that's a little easier) - they have ones that are quite tall. It's usually enough to stop the bolting if the door swings before someone can get to it. Or a storm door? Sorry you're having to deal with that!
I wish I could! But unfortunately we're renting, so I'd have to go and ask the landlord, and then find a door for the extra large door that we have. Pain in the ass really. And while *I* don't mind stepping over dog-doors, my room-mates are CONSIDERABLY less accommodating than I'm willing to be...
I'm just really, really waiting for the day that I own the house, then I won't have to deal with this crap anymore!!
I may look into putting one of those kind that open and close, kind of like a secondary door. Hopefully it'll be enough to keep Stupid in the house...
I'm sorry about the door thing :/ I understand the paranoia. I kind of have that right now with fires.
I took my smoke detector out because everytime I would cook it would go off because the house is just way too small, and I cook /all the time/ so I'd have to be climbing the walls all the time. But now I wake up at least several times a night worried the house is on fire. Needless to say I don't sleep very well when I'm at home ;/
