Something Amazing Happened...
Okay so I've been making wallpapers for a while and one of the wallpapers I made that is showcased on my Flickr page is based on the movie, "The Christmas Cottage" starring Jared Padalecki (of Supernatural fame). I was on YouTube earlier this morning and noticed a video still that happened to be most familiar. I clicked on the video and to my surprise it was a mini message from Thomas Kinkade (the painter himself) talking about the movie and lo and behold - my wallpaper was showcased as he spoke about the film.
I studied the art of Thomas Kinkade in grade eight, so this for me was unbelievable. I had no idea that something I created would be found appealing by (a) the painter himself (if he has indeed seen my digital artwork) and (b) a movie company. Considering how I want to transition one day from writing to screenwriting - be a part of the movies in some way, that would be amazing. I still can't believe that.
It was really amazing and surreal at the same time because I've never gotten that sort of attention from anyone before and the fact that a movie, rather an autobiographical one on Thomas Kinkade and starring my favourite actor Jared Padalecki and Sir Peter O'Toole - making me a part of that history is astonishing.
