Update on Dad. He's been found.

The cops found him about 10 blocks away from the hospital, he's okay just a little chilled.

So am I. Apparently he went out for some air (and coffee) and got disorientated. Glad everything turned out fine, I just didn't want to tell Mum - unless I have too. The hospital can't say anything since she's not listed as next-of-kin.
