How to Turn In Your Rough Draft

Apr 18, 2013 13:24

It's finally that time! You have until April 24th, 2013 to turn in your rough draft for the Werewolf Big Bang challenge. First off, to answer some questions members might have.

- We would love it if you could turn in a minimum word count of 8,000 or 80%, but if you are ABSOLUTELY sure you will have your fic finished and more than 10,000 words by June 1st, 2013 then turn in the information we ask along with whatever you have. This is important because you have to be sure you will finish, all rough drafts will be going up to get claimed by an artist (and we don't want a fic claimed then have the author drop out after the artist has already done art). If you aren't sure but want to keep trying you can switch to the Unofficial Track, this means your story WON'T go into the claims post but if you are able to finish it by the final deadline I will do my best to arrange an artist for (and you will be able to post with everyone else!)

- No one but the mod will see what you turn in. Once your story is claimed by an artist you will be responsible for forwarding them a draft of the story that they can do art off. So don't worry if the draft you have now is full of holes and notes or may not be in the right order.

- If you are turning in more than one story for this challenge PLEASE send them in separate emails.

- The summaries are important! This is what potential artists will be reading to claim a story for art. So please take your time, proofread it, and make sure it’s something that you think reflects your fic well. If your beta has already started going over their fic ask them if they can go over your summary, you don't want a potential artist to be scared away by a typo!

Now, instructions on how to turn in your rough draft:

Email to:
bigbangwerewolf@gmail.com

Subject line of email:
Rough Draft - Title - LJ Username

Body:

LJ Username:
Current Word Count:
Percent Complete:
Title:
Fandom(s): (include all that apply, if its a crossover include the crossed over fandoms)
Type: (gen, slash, het)
Rating:
Characters/Pairings:
Warnings (extreme sexual context, non-con, violence, strong language, characters death, ableism, etc - if there is anything in your fic potential artists should be warned about please include it)
Summary: (try to write 1-3 paragraphs)

PLEASE keep the coding in your email, it makes it easier for us to just copy and paste this into the claiming post. The only things that will be taken out is the LJ username, percent complete, and current word count (that information is for the spreadsheet).

Then add your fic as an attachment, we would prefer it if you had it as an .doc but we can take .docx and .rtf

We will email you back confirming we have gotten the fic. This may not be immediate so please don't worry. If you have any questions at all or need any help leave a comment in this post.
