Domain registration

I'm thinking of starting a new website to document the games work I'm starting to do in my downtime. Exciting times!

I was wondering if other techy types had any recommendations for which of the (1<<64) domain registration companies are worth using? Good for price, reliability, service? Not likely to sell your domain without checking with you ( Read more... )

Depends what domain you're thinking of but if you already have hosting and want a .uk domain then a reliable non-assery company to use could be the company I used to work for - details here, which I vouch is run by decent blokes.

Yep, I've used 123-reg since 2002 and they've been fine. For the hosting itself I use http://www.xcalibre.co.uk/.

Well, that's 3 recommendations for 123-reg from website owners, so that's good enough for me! Now, do I want the .com as well as the .co.uk... decisions, decisions...

Maybe do like I did and register both and then set one to forward to the other in 123-reg itself? That way you don't have to point both at your host, just the one you want to be fo' realz.
