Fernando estimates the distance between them and the rest of the men on the pitch. He drops his voice to compensate. "It's different with Olalla and me. We've known each other since we were kids. I didn't need my club to buy me heterosexuality."

Guti doesn't miss a beat. He smiles. He shines. "Give it a few years."

so you know i love your writing and i just spoke to you about what an amazing persona guti has but you just completely reminded me what a perfect character he is. i wish we could go back into time and have you write another part of guti vignettes because this one is absolutely amazing.

so much chemistry in only so few lines. to me, this is a study of Guti as character and its a very good one, to me. It leaves a bitter taste on the back of my tongue but it's really really spot-on, I guess.
