depressing post about family kitty, don't feel obligated to read,

Well... I think that it's a bit unfortunate that my first real post to LJ in a looong while, should be a sad one.
First of all, I'm well. After spending 2 years teaching in Japan, I came back last August, and am currently living with my family in Sacramento. Why'd I come back? Job limitations, feeling like i needed to move on, wanting my own ( Read more... )

My condolences. My cat of 15 years just had to be put down after recurring kidney failure she was first diagnosed with 8 years ago. She also had near-death and then miraculous recovery experiences. Once you see them slowing down a lot and not bouncing back, then it's probably time. I was pretty sad for several days, but now that's it been a week, I realize I still feel pretty connected to her, even though there is obviously still a loss after having grown up with the love of another creature.
