FULLY EMBRACING THE FUTURE

Jan 10, 2011 22:33

Oh man, I've gotten behind on posting my 2011 resolutions! Which fortunately (for the most part) seem pretty attainable!

* Print a COMIC with ocicatsy (again!)
We got our feet wet with Crown Royale, and we're totally ready to put out something ourselves this time! Totally excited. Our uh, next goal would be to put out a print comic that's more worksafe, ( Read more... )

Dammit! I wanted to get you some kickass jewelry at 10,000 Villages and Dandan and Bridget pointed out you don't wear it! Those were my psychic powers trying to help you out!

So now you need to Finish a Comic about your Nic Cage Experience and then Screenprint a cover and also Screenprint Nic Cage's face onto some Accessories. And blog the whole thing.

All A PLUS material! Though I don't think I'll be joining you in Cagequest:2011. If I were going to filmstalk an actor it would be, hm, Brigitte Lin? No wait she is in 89 movies. New mini-resolution: track down and watch Peking Opera Blues.

Go to grad school because you'd ready enjoy studying library stuff. Don't go to get a job because there's no funding. Libraries, like all levels of education, are them scary intellectual things, so they don't deserve any money. Even if there was any, which there isn't.

Also, avoid The Chronicle. One of my professors recommended it as a way to get questions answered about grad school, but it really only exists to make you feel bad.

That said, as much as I piss and moan, my enthusiasm in grad school comes and goes. Unlike student teaching, which just became ever-increasing horror and misery. If in grad school/higher education you find yourself thinking, "I'd quit if I hadn't already put so much time/effort/money into this," you should probably go ahead and bail.

Yeah, this is why I'm sorta waffling on the grad school thing. I really love library and media-related stuff, but I also have a life outside of my current job and hobbies that I'm not sure I'm ready to give up yet. :/

Oh, yeah, I loved your story and the Beauty and the Beast and Little Red Riding Hood stories in Crown Royale. Thankies!

If you do another one, this fairy tale would be HILARIOUS. http://www.pitt.edu/~dash/grimm065.html All Fur, about a girl who runs away because her dad wants to bang her. Ew.

Man, I thought the original Seven Swans tale was bad (in the original, the silent princess gets raped and has to carry that kid to term...all without saying anything) but this is pretty FUCKED. UP. Thanks, Grimm Bros!

We had another fairytale idea lined up, but right now my memory is failing me and I can't remember what the heck it was...

Pookas and/or leprechauns. No, there will not be midget and/or horse-fucking.
